Corvette revives the historic Grand Sport name that will replace in 2010 the previous Z51 package.
The new Corvette Grand Sport uses the LS3-based powertrain, 6.2L engine rated at 430 horsepower and 575 Nm of Torque with the standard exhaust system, and 436 hp and 580 Nm with two-mode exhaust system.
Also includes an unique wide-body styling and racetrack-bred suspension for a distinctive, starting grid-ready performer. Will be available in both coupe and convertible body styles.
2010 Grand Sport replaces previous Z51 package with better handling performance, wider wheels and tires, revised shocks, stabilizer bar and springs, and specific gearing.
The manual transmission for the new Corvette Grand Sport are uniquely outfitted with a dry-sump oiling system, rear-mounted battery and differential cooler.
With the Z06-style front splitter and rear spoiler, the new Grand Sport mounts unique 18 and 19-inch wheels painted finish standard and chrome finish optional, huge rear tires 325/30ZR19 and front tires 275/35ZR18, with Z06 brakes with six piston calipers (front) and four piston calipers (rear).
The new Corvette Grand Sport also includes a new Launch Control system designed to give drivers optimal traction during full throttle starts. With the Traction Control’s switch on all that you have to do is pull the gas pedal and the system modulates torque considering grip and traction. Use the Launch Control system won’t avoid the warranty.

I saw it at the bash and was very impressed. It is the(zo6) that i’ve always dreamed of with the removeable roof on the coupe style,but it is not the actual zo6,thats just fine by me. Now all I need to know is ,where is the starting price going to be?
